Airfare pricing. Discounts and benefits on tariffs

When buying or placing an order for an air ticket via the Internet, you may encounter a situation where the price after acceptance of the order may increase significantly. What determines the final price of the ticket?

The total cost of the air ticket consists of the fare of the company that operates the flight and a variety of fees.

Tariffs are set by the airline itself, usually for semi-annual periods: winter navigation from 28.10 to 31.03 and summer navigation from 31.03 to 28.10.
Fees include the costs of the airline, which it transfers to the airport for servicing passengers and aircraft (possibly rent).

There can be several types of fees, for example, a service fee implies a fee for the agency for the sale and issuance of tickets. The airport tax collects funds for landing and departure of an aircraft, a security fee and others.

Varieties of air fares

Fares are set by the airlines and depend on the itinerary, fare period and booking class. The term of the tariff is determined by the number of days that you want to spend on your stay at your destination. Booking classes are divided into first, business and economy class.

When purchasing more expensive first or business class air tickets, you are provided with more services, these are:
– the possibility of check-in at a special counter upon departure;
- preferential conditions for the exchange of air tickets;
– the ability to change the date of departure and other services.

When buying an economy class ticket, you are provided with fewer services, but this is offset by the low cost of the fare.

Fares for air travel are full and preferential

The full (normal) tariff is valid for a year and has no restrictions on the length of stay at the destination. It is not limited by the number of stops along the route. The normal fare is not subject to penalties for changing the date of departure, the itinerary of destination and the return of the ticket. A one-way ticket can be purchased if the country of destination allows such conditions.

Preferential (special) tariff has its own rules and advantages. You can usually find out the special fare terms when you buy or book at the ticket office or on the "Fare Terms" pages of online sales services. Today there are more than ten different types of preferential fares for air travel. Special rates include: Excursion, Youth, Apex-Pex, rates for school groups, Spousal and Family rates, corporate and group rate discounts for students and teachers are popular.

If you decide to save money on air travel, then check out the tempting offers of charter flights and find out how much an air ticket costs. These flights are quite economical and popular with a large number of passengers.
